Many dentists belong to different dental organizations that focus on different aspects of a dental practice, from business groups, such as the Pride Institute, to clinical groups, such as the Academy of General Dentistry. As a licensed practicing dentist, to belong to these groups requires an application, a yearly fee and most times to be in good standing with the local dental society. Unless the individual seeks to pursue a higher level of training and education, membership in these groups does not constitute expanded knowledge.
Dr. Paris has been a member of several of these types of organizations, and each organization with which he has held membership, he has achieved the highest level of education possible, many times being the first specialist in the country to pass both the oral and written exams prepared by the academicians. In one group, the Academy of General Dentistry, he was the first and only dental specialist to become Course Director for the review of the FAGD (Fellowship of the Academy of General Dentistry) written examination. He held this position for ten years donating his time and resources to help fellow dentists achieve this remarkable accomplishment. Under his direction the students achieved 100% pass rate.
